10 or 12 inches here in southwest Ohio and still dumping. Blizzard warning through the afternoon. BLIZZARDS IN MARCH!!! What a joke. Usually I'm on the lake two or three days a week this time of year. Worst of all my dad and a group of guys are making our yearly trip to Weiss next week without me because I can't work it into my schedule. I'm sure they won't rub it in too much when they are driving south while we are still looking at the left overs of this mess. Dang groundhog!!! I was hoping he was wrong this year.

They were arresting anybody who was on the roads in Cloumbus, Dayton, Cleveland or Akron today. You know it's bad when a state like Ohio which is used to heavy snowfalls has to close all roads because they cannot keep up with it. Columbus Ohio has 22 inches on the ground. in just 2 days.

I know where your coming from Grizz. I spent much of the first 45 years of my life in the Oswego NY area. 150-200" of snow every year. In 2003 I took a job in Huntsville AL. My wife cried and carried on about how much she was gonna miss Upstate NY. After her first winter here she told her mom she would never move back north. Year round wet water fishing, Great hunting , Long golf season, and great people. All my close friends that have visited rave about North Alabama. My Southern friends grumble about me helping increase the # of D*mn Yankees(hehe). Come on down, youll love it.

    Default Hate Winter ???

Guaranteed cure for boredom during winter. Works in northern states only.

    ICE FISHING

Then you will be amazed how late winter gets here and how soon it leaves.:D
Been an ice fisherman for about 48 of my 60 years. Even though I got 3 boats ( soon to be two as cousin is buying one ) I prefer the ice angling. To me its like fishing on steroids. Show me a good ice fisherman and I will show you someone who can catch fish anywhere , anytime.

I've had the same experiences without actually moving in TN. I'm sure you have probably seen me whining about not being there this year. Its rough thinking of the open water down there and the 50 degree winter days while I'm up here in the snowy deepfreeze. Its likely that in the next few years I will move permanently somewhere down there. I need to come look around a little more before I decide where. One thing is for sure is that its going to be next to a lake with big crappies in it.

Its weird starting daylight saving with 12 degree temps and 2 feet of snow as well. Ick!

Well guys I'm not even going to start a rant, but I did go and spend about $500.00 on fishing equipment at BPS today. It helps with the cabin fever!! LOL I just don't know when I'm going to be able to use it! Oh well!! Not much of a rant, but Spring is coming soon, and I'm going to Dale Hollow and Cherokee Lake later this month. I hope the snow is gone by then!!!
