I looked at those Bee things in the pictures and for the life of me I could not see how you could get a pole in one of them dohickeys.

I think I will stick with the Driftmaster or the TiteLoc rod holders if I ever get into spiderrigging.

Now if you can show some better pictures of those bee things that I would reconsider and take another look at them.

I just call it the way I see it.

That might be a problem for me. I've got to replace the wood under the glass on my front deck. I guess I need to stop fishing on weekends and grind the glass out and replace the wood "one of these days".

Thanks for the info on the Bee Ready, but they really are not an improvement over my homemade ones. I just want to get them up higher.

Well a picture helps. Thanks for posting the pictures. I think I see how they would work now. sort of. I suspect that they just hold onto the back part of the rods handle from the pictures. But I don't see how they are adjustable in all X Y Z axis as the other rods holders area.

Do you have any picuture of the BEE things with the rods in them?

There are like 50 some mounting options , and yes some of them are flush mount and removeable . My brother is just looking over the catalog to order a set for his canoe !!

Bill, I have Driftmasters all over my boat. I have 11 bases screwed down and use homemade aluminum spreader bars on several to give me more holders. They are tough. They handle 40, 50 and 60 pound catfish here on the James. I just added a Driftmaster 4 holder T-bar up front. Seems to be just fine. I like the round rail because it lets you adjust the angle with the wing nut on the individual rail mount. As apposed to the flat bar that is new this year.

Driftmaster, do you have a taller bar for the t-bar setup? I think it is 10", but do you have a taller one if I want to mount it on the deck.

About those BeeReady holders, how about a few pics with rods in the holders and show a hookset and rod removal.

    Thanks,
    Dayton

    I do now ....LOL !!

    :p :D

The hook set and removal is real easy , simply lift up , there's nothing to move but the rod . They also allow you to keep tension on the line as you set the hook and remove the rod . There should be pics on the Beeready site , if not I have a flyer I could mail you that shows much better pics than i can post up .( PM me if you want me to mail you a flyer )

I tried all day yesterday to get on the site ,but could not. The rod holders screw in and out of the bases. If I were installing on fiberglass and could use nuts and bolts, I would use a fender washer in place of a regular washer. The fender washer will cover a greater surface area and the fiberglass will fail before the nuts and bolts will. If you cannot get to the underside to put a nut on and have to use screws, you can use 3M 5200 marine adhesive and screws to mount the bases. Be aware that the 5200 will permanantly bond and the base will not be removable.

Good luck with any choice you go with.

    Ranger 690,

We don't make a taller stem, but we do make rod holders with a 8" stem, that on top of the T-Bar would get you higher.

    Driftmaster -
Are the rods threaded with standard taper threads? One could add an extension with a coupling if needed.(?)

SAE threads, 3/8x16, 1/2x13, but if you what to extend the stem for the trolling bar, it would be difficult because of the bar seat that is welded to the top of the stem.
