Nah, seriously it stinks everything going up, but might as well try to laugh
    about it instead of crying.
Sounds as though I may have to find Miss Linda a job if I intend to keep fishing and eating what I catch.

Sorry don't mean to change the subject, but have ya'll ever used corn oil?

Last Fall I was running through an unfamiliar grocery store picking up stuff
for a camping trip, in a big hurry, and all I could find that wasn't in a huge bottle was corn oil. I knew we were gonna use it one time and pour it out, because we were boating up the lake and camping on a gravel bar, so I
took a chance and tried it -
some of the best fish I've ever cooked I thought. May have been cause
they were fresh and cooked right on the waters edge though :D

I quit using peanut oil a while back, started using veg oil and can't tell the difference. The key is not to over cook and have your oil hot enough.

I just got through eating a plate full that were sautee' in butter with Tony's and wochestire sauce and I like it a whole lot better than fried

Look into cottonseed oil. I know that Sportsman's Warehouse stopped carrying the peanut oil and went to cottonseed a few years back. As far as I know with what I've heard, you can't taste any difference.

My wife wrangled me into cooking for her family around Christmas. They wanted a fried turkey and a smoked turkey. One of my grand neices is alergic to peanuts so I had to find a substitute. Got the cotton seed oil and it worked great. Couldn't tell the difference.

I sympathize with ya, have tried em all. Sams liquid shortening is a good buy and does a fine job. Just double up on the cholesterol meds after.
