I wonder if it has something to do with the power settings in your control panel?

OK it is working now that I checked the box...

Sorry FatCat it does have to do with cookies. When my computer is idle it logs me out which deletes the cookies and i have to start over.

Checking the box keeps the puter from logging out.

I have gotten logged out several times if I have to do something else for a while, get a phone call, etc. It's a real pain if you were in the middle of reviewing new posts as you can't ever get back to the ones you hadn't seen yet.

    Exclamation I don't LOG OUT ....

I have no reason to, so I don't :D Crappie.com is my "home page"
The only time I've had to log myself back into the site, is when I've cleaned out the cookies. I put the cookie link to this site under "ignore", on my cookie cleaning programs ... so now I don't have to worry about accidently erasing my log in.
And yes, I always checked the "remember me" box, when logging back in. It may also help to make a direct link (favorites link) to the "Forums" page, rather than the front page ... that way you have all the different forums to choose from, as soon as the screen loads.

Being automatically "timed out and logged off" by your computer, may be a result of a setting you have on your PC. You might check with Grizz, Ed, or one of the other IT gurus or computer guys, to see if that's a possibility. Don't ask me :p cause I'm just computer literate enough to be dangerous

    blairarnold,

you can go to "Quick Links" at the top and go to "Todays Post" if you want to keep up with recent post. May help you til you get a permanent fix.

    Crappiepappy,

So far it is working fine. I have just let the computer idle and it is there when I open it back up. I can start where I left off, when I hit new post.

This is a new laptop and I have never had a laptop or Vista so still learning its quirks. I had the ignore list up yesterday and never added crappie.com.

Thanks for the mention about the favorites deal, it is a good idea to go to the forums page and save to favorites there.

sorry if I sounded confusing earlier, I guess I should have stated that the only time I get kicked off is when I'm posting, that's why I use the copy/paste thing.
I can only wish to be as good as my dog thinks I am
