Radio Shack sells one, that looks like a pin. Take the cap off, point it and press the botton. People in the furance repair bussiness use them.
Can anyone recommend a small, portable temperature sensor / gauge? I had one made by Minn Kota that cost $15 that finally quit. It was really handy and did the job, but now I'm in the market again.

I used to have a Combo-C-Lector that had a 50 foot cable. You only had to stop at each foot mark labeled on the cable for 10 seconds to get the temp reading for that depth. I could determine the depth of the themocline easily and without pulling up the probe at each depth checked. It also let you know what the most visible color was at that depth and water clarity.
Sometimes an off the wall color would out produce my standard colors say 6 to 1 "Longline trolling multipe jigs." Never failed, when I would grab the Combo-C-Lector and check the color at the exact depth that the jigs were running it would always be right on the color that they were hitting the best!
Sadly, They quit making these several years ago. You can still luck up and find one still new in the box on E-Bay but they go for up to 100 bucks.
