of the threads where they screwed into the base plate. Appeared to be
metal fatigue, we never figured out if maybe wind buffeting or just shock
during trailering was contributing to this - but I know one broke and went
in the drink when he came off a big wave. 20' bass boat, so not as rough
a ride as some will see. Maybe he's just a reckless driver? :D
Hmm..if he didn't remove them while trailering I would imagine that is why they broke. I'm making my own setup, and it'll be small enough to fit in my rod box when I'm not fishing with it.

I always remove them while trailering.

I was the idiot that bought the tite locks. Yea I saved some time by buying them, but I am very disappointed in them. They are not stable. When one pole gets a bite they all shake like they all got a bite. They won't stay tight in the base and I could name a few other things I am not satisfied with but I wont run down their product. When these are shot I will be building my own as well. I have made and use 2 sets out of 1 1/4" PVC pipe that I clamp on the side rail of my boat that actually work as good or better that the tite locks. Oh yea, I have a good job and can afford the "Good Stuff" without looking in the sofa.

You are right, Wiskers, I don't know about his sofa but you won't find that kind of change under the cushions on my sofa. I just bought two four rod t-bar tite lok black widow setups for my boat and I guarantee sofa change wouldn't pay for them. I'd swap them for a set like country boy made in a second. They looked great to me.

You got that right! They do look good. I've got the Black Widows too and I think I'd just as soon have a set of his. :D
