Have you considered a Deep-V like a Lund? Many of the guides in north Texas use that style of boat. I've been very pleased with my Lund and it can handle some very rough water.
I fish out of a 21' Ranger enter console with 200 merc and terrova w/auto pilot and co-pilot. DeepV rides great and sets deep in the water. Has a good front deck for pushing and plenty of walk around room for flat line trolling or spider rigging. A little rough on gas at 50 MPH but if you cruise like I do at 25 MPH it's not too bad on gas. Real stable boat. Take your time and look at all of the different type boats available before you make a decision. It's hard to find the perfect boat, if there is such a thing.
I fish out of a 15 ft monarch side console great boat if you are not in choppy water. A little small for 2 big guys.
Working on a 19 ft center console for a better all around boat.

Consider a Lund In the wilderness series, "Alaskan" Deep V Lifetime warranty on the hull. Low decks, Open floor plan! good to excellent storage capability. They have a protrack gunnel system that allows for any number of options in rigging. There sure are some great looking boats in the previous posts though.
Good luck There is a lot of different styles to chose from
Dont forget to look at Carolina Skiffs. You have them built just the way you want it AND since they run so shallow they take a smaller motor for the same results....hence lower pricing. A very well built boat for a particial of the money other boats costs. And easy to maintain too.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
I also have the Triton TA-196. It really is an awesome crappie boat. I like it because it handles rough water well. It is set up nice, whether you troll, cast, or shoot.

I would highly recommend the Triton TA-196. I have the 150 Mercury Optimax and it is really efficient on the gas consumption. The boats handles extremely well in rough water and is a tremendous boat for crappie fishing in shallows or deep water brush piles. Two people can fish out of the front of the boat with comfort.
Great boat with a decent price tag if you shop around.
