Who knows ??
I say that because most 10# braid is 2# mono diameter equivalent, so that's less diameter than your 4# mono ... but then again, braid is more buoyant than mono, so .... could be a wash ??
I had a freind fish with 10# braid line, and I was fishing with 4 # mono.
He was out fishing me 2 to 1.
So my thought was, he is a way better fisherman than I am, or the braid line floats at a slower pace to keep the bait in the stike zone longer than the mono does.
Your thoughts on this?
And yes, my freind is a way better fisherman than I.
Thanks

No way too know for sure unless you switch poles before the bite slows

braid for sure sinks way slowly , not a fan 99.9% of the time myself , but one lone dusty rod or 2 way in the back has some on it .....easy fix to the fall rate , extra fat plastic on a 1/32 and up the mono 2 lbs .....if the fallrate is important ....
8 lb mono with 1/32 about won't sink , the different line and jigweight combos are infinite , braid has a place in the mix .....
behind the other mono rods against the back wall in my case .....
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
If I'm casting, 4 or 6# hivis mono.
Vertical jigging my long poles 10/2 hivis braid.
Back when I fished mono , it drove me crazy with the memory, those coils act as shock absorbers.
To combat this , I would stretch my line often. Hook it to something , and pull it very tight , hold this for about half a minute,
Release the tension , If the line lays flat , it is good to go. repeat as needed.

That’s a good idea Mozingo.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Braid is more sensitive but shouldn't matter much with a cork.
Braid does float better so probably didnt have as much underwater slack to pull up to move the hook.
Braid also has like zero stretch so if yall was casting out a ways you was really having to slam the hook to get a set and he wasnt.
Next time grab a longer rod where you get more sweep with the set.
The fish are usually dumber where my fishing partner throws also. Next time try throwing over his line and see if it helps thats what I do.
