    Back when I fished mono , it drove me crazy with the memory, those coils act as shock absorbers.
    To combat this , I would stretch my line often. Hook it to something , and pull it very tight , hold this for about half a minute,
    Release the tension , If the line lays flat , it is good to go. repeat as needed.

    we stretch out our mono every visit to the water , usually first drop .....just saying ....
