Give them what they want
My brother in law and l have had some good trips lately. In 4 trips we have caught 74, 69, 68 and Friday the 10th we caught 92 crappie in the wind. We fished with one lure, in the same color, to catch 99% percent of all the fish. We tried the same lure in 5 different colors. When l would change to a different color, my brother in law would keep catching fish and l caught nothing. When he changed to a different color, l kept catching and he caught nothing. We tried several different brands and sizes of lures with same results. I understand this proves nothing but 303 fish convinced us that color matters. All fish were returned to lake as we don't keep crappie during the spawn. This is just a fyi. Don

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I just want to know the color that you used?..ha
I’’ve personally seen color matter a couple of weeks ago. I had 6 poles with a double jig setup alternating between two color combos as to which is on top and which is on the bottom. The morning was almost always 1 color combo (didn’t matter if top or bottom jig), and around lunch time, they switched to the other color combo most of the time. This happened two days in a row in the same week. I started keeping a journal for each fishing trip and think that may have happened the week before as well after further review.
sometimes what they see and want is amazing , it can be so very specific as well .....

Up here in New England color definitely matters as the seasons change. Just my 2c.
