    Default Muddy Waters revisited

Those that run hard core electronics have likely seen the effects of muddy waters on the screen , we often see heavy amounts of debris in the water in the soup .
In some spots it looks very similar to a thermocline , there will be so much debris down deep that it looks very cloudy on the screen . Now to be very sure much of the debris will start to settle as the water stabilizes after these heavy rain and mud water events.
This creates an uncomfortable situation for many fish species that like the mid range to deeper water typical scenarios . to add to the dilemma, The primary food source in many lakes south of the Mason Dixon line is more often than not threadfin shad . These fish love lots of oxygen and that often drives them to oxygen rich areas in the lakes they frequent.
Well to be sure the best waters for an oxygen chasing fish will pretty much always be the upper water column in these here muddy water conditions , short of a man made oxygen source or some natural condition creating massive turbulence , the upper water column will be the ticket.
Then we have the ever lovely ALWAYS eating something Crappie, right up close to the bait in most every situation. So in synopsis ,keep in mind this about that, really dirty rain driven mud water in lots of spots will push the bait and the predators to the upper water column .
Often times they will all be less than 5 foot under the surface way out in the open deep waters, Try to keep an open mind on this subject as it will help you in your chase of the full livewell dream ....
just a quick tip for you folks looking for them in them high muddy water big lakes

One lake I fish if it gets real muddy, stay in front of mud and debris line . Crappie seem to be pushed out into open clearer water. After a big rain our flood control lakes can get a fast rise of several feet a day. First few days the end towards the dam can stay clear.
