Wow, $11….. that’s a good deal. I would have gone back and made sure there weren’t any others.
Congrats on the slingfest. Nothing like Kaboom. Glad you had fun. Oh, bass is ok I guess.
Nah, that’s a nice one. Congrats on PB.
Lil Red Riding in the hood does it yet AGAIN !
Man will she flat out make ya proud to know her ....
That set up is pure gold , never mind all the big bucks folks
AND GET this .....I am SO SO SO in love with her I went to find her a twin sister...
Already had the same reel waiting for her in the box if she could be found .....
Strolled into to Wally world to pick up some nibbles and floats and there one was!
A great deal for 31.99 no doubt , easily as good as any rod in the 100 dollar range and possibly better than some in 150 range ....
SHE RANG UP 11.00 Greenbacks folks , you should a seen this foot stomping music fool dancing , some folks near me looked quite concerned I tell ya ...
The folks at the register thunked about calling security I bet , I prolly said WOW fifty 2 or more times , bought went back to see if it should be triplets !
ANYWAY onto the real story here , H and I went west to hunt ,dint ketch any hogs ,stopped by my friends place for a few as I was needed for a MAJOR shrimp consumption festival venue back in DFW in the afternoon ,,,,
we dipped jigs in the off color water , been raining and raining and was actaully raining when we hit the lake .
So we was stuck on the main crappie dock , make em bite or go home we said , no relocating in the rain , not our agenda to get wet was the deal ....
the fish were HOT , every drop got bit , color seemed to matter though as my FOUR color tube was just getting a serious workout and my fish ran larger ....
H ran a natural and even when they was SUPER TINY mine was still .003657 inches bigger than his !
Now mind you this my attire consisted of my favorite Crappie.com Lucky T shirt and my favorite KABOOM ballcap ( and as I often say pants are optional )
this likely had some significant play during this adventure .....
So we hammered till we had to go and managed to ketch some sort of obscene number of just regular ole crappie , no really big ones , a few nice ones here and there and tons and tons of small ones.
THEN it happened ....H got a nice crappie and I went over to his area and said I need one as well .....we was laughing it up some as my line was beside his and I felt a little pressure on my jig ....set the hook and the rod bent down and it didn't move ! Told him boy howdy bro just hooked a stupid big crappie FOR SURE !
It moved out away from the dock kinda slowly and I told hin IF it is a crappie we about to see the NEW world record if Lil red and me can handle such a fish ....well the reel started with the music and the rod REALLY bent hard and I told him this is FAR to large to be a crappie bro ......
It went on for a bit and he told me tighten your drag and quit playing around with it and I said dude NO WAY , I ain't playing and whatever is on the other END is for SURE BIG !
Well eventually it came to the surface after many many close calls with the stumps and dock legs and such and BOTH of us went HOLY WOW ! That is big ....
To bad it's a ding dong bass
9 lbs 1 oz. on the scale in the clubhouse and off she went ....post spawn ole lady and bet she was near 10 or better for sure a few months ago .....
So in the end does color actually matter you might wonder , I say for darn sure it does , nothing out there will beat miss lil RED riding in the hood in ketch fish situation , this here is a FACT !
and her twin sister waits to replace her when and if she ever gives up ...
KABOOM is what I do and I am a not actually well trained not so professional typer , do not try KABOOM unless you have been professionally trained to do so ,someone could get seriously injured you know
p.s. that is my best/PB largemouth , this much is a fact ,,,,,just fyi
iffin you made it thru this post without tiring my hats off to ya btw
will stop in next week on the rod and graze a bit more , did handle a second one that go , but SOMEONE had apparently stepped on the tip and flattened out the last eye ....
the green trash fish on 6 lb mono , for sure tops the scale with me , have managed a few ok/nice above 5 lbs. ones on a bit heavier tackle a few times , but never ever had such a bass hit my hand on tackle that light in my days ....
and never managed one that heavy either ,,,
when she came up she never jumped , this gave her more stamina for sure , she REALLY was a stream rolling splendid adversary ....

Major KABOOM on the green fish brother!! Good job sniffing up the rod too. Sounds like we both had good days this weekend. I’m patiently awaiting your next telling of a Kaboom adventure.

The Bass definitely looks better than you in the picture. Your customary pose is missing. Fun read anyway. If you tried the "Jimmy Houston" with that fish I bet it would have slipped you some tongue!

Rojo . you need to consider this ....
up late hog hunting , no shower and about tired of the adventure when she hit bro , it for sure gave me that adrenalin boost to make it home for a shower and then off to the shrimp festival
kissing her lips might have caused serious injury , she might keep a pc. of one is my thoughts , although I will say this , after I put her up on the bank slowly , she never really fought or struggled and seemed to possibly realize it was not her last go round with some yeehaw wanting to take a picture with her
