Youll never run it at 100% unless you want to pull crankbaits real fast. Since i switched to lithium i rarely ever have the motor over 30%. I troll at 1.2mph on 30% with a mk 70lb.

I watch my batteries in the app sometimes when i am bored, i usually pull about 5 amps trolling.

At 100% i get 3.4mph ish, with my lead acid i got 2.7mph max

yep for SURE , ran retired batteries in my boat for several years , them used refurbs that cost 35 bucks ...
need a new one every 3 or 4 years , ran EVERYTHING off one battery and abused the heck out it all the time ....
seems to me some other issues might be at hand ...
heck the optima one that cost me 60 as a refurb lasted until I finally gave it away to a bud still working after 4 or 5 years
not so sure about much , but folks will toss lots of cash at batteries when it really don't add up in the dollars dept. for me ...
259 divided by 35 bucks is about 7 years worth of battery electricity EVEN if they only went one year ....
    just saying .....

I'm on year 7 with this set of trolling motor battery's. It's all i've ran since 2003 & the least i've gotten has been 5 years. If the op is having to replace battery's every year then something is definitely wrong.

I’m beginning to think that OP is overdrawing the trolling motor batteries moving the pontoon boat. What size batteries are you using, OP? I was just thinking that I got about 6-8 years on my last pair of group 24 Lead Acid for my trolling motor and about the same on the group 24 AGM for cranking and electronics. I’m still running group 24 AGM on the trolling motor and a group 31 AGM on the crank/electronics and am studying to see how often I get to 50% on the group 31 to see if I need to split it up with a group 24 AGM for crank and Lithium for electronics/house.
