I probably catch close to a 100 of these a year on Beaver Lake but I do not recall ever catching one that I would consider a wall hanger. Have any of you caught any that were really large?

That's probably the biggest Blacknose we've ever caught on Greeson. The AG&FC stocked a couple hundred thousand two years ago (they'll be three years old this spring) and we've been watching them grow. They are 12 to 13-inches now so we should start seeing some 2-pound plus fish from that stocking in another year or two.

We've caught several on VA's SML up to 12 inches, caught my first two from Buggs this past yr. Are they a separate species or a cross?

They are a normal black crappie that are born with the genetic stripe.

Creek, do you do most of your fishing in the river? All of my family is from Batesville and I use to do a lot of fishing with my grandpa there along the river. Great times. I love that town.
