Sunblock is usually always in the boat, mama always gets on me about it. but I'm definitely gonna snag one of them big brimmed hats. it was a cloudy overcast day to start but the clouds cleared and it ended up bright and sunny. And on top of that what was supposed to be a couple hour trip but the fish were biting and we all know how that goes!

OOOOOHHHH yea, that's gonna hurt. Back in my younger days, while in the service I've had way too many of them kinda necks. Outside most of the day, and not allowed a big brimmed hat, neither. Now adays I wear either a neck gator, SPF50 screening, and/or a big brimmed straw hat. And never say you can't get a burn like that on a cloudy day gents. I'm here to say it's the UV rays that get yah...and they come on through them there clouds.

Thanks for the link on that hat Lund, exactly what I was wanting. It looks like it will be pretty cool (temperature wise that is) and it will be cool not to have a scorched neck.

Of course! I haven’t dunked it in water yet but so far it’s been great! A LOT of airflow on top and the top part is light and a stiff bill. Hope it heals fast!

Whew! That is a bad burn. Like many here, I use 50 SPF. melanoma is an equal opportunity killer.

Wow! I admit that I am not as careful as I should be but I don't remember ever being that bad. That one is going to be a lot of fun before it's gone.
