Default Fuel Treatment - Mercury Pro XS

Hi folks, I'm running a Mercury Pro XS 150hp on my war eagle, just curious what kind of fuel treatment everyone is running? Especially to other Mercury owners, which is the best and why? Thanks in advance! Cheers!

I have a Yamaha and use Sta-Bil 360 Marine. It is designed to prevent fuel-related damage in marine engines. It can protect against corrosion caused by unleaded fuel, including ethanol blended fuels, and can also clean the fuel system for improved performance. Stabil Marine has extra ability to neutralize the water that ethanol attracts. Also stabilizes fuel for 12 months. Ran it for decades and no issues.

Previously I've gone back & forth between Stabil & Seafoam, but in the past several years I've only used Seafoam. 1999 90HP Merc 2strk ... fuel has been in my tank for about a year and I do not expect any problems (relating to fuel), as I haven't had any over the past several years.

Can't tell you which is the best, but I'm one of those "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kinda guys.

Seafoam. I even buy several gallons at a time & use it at work in fuel systems on heavy equipment. It works.

Best thing you can do IMO is not to use ethanol fuel. Easy to find stations that have non-ethanol fuel, link below.

Thanks! I agree that ethanol free is probably best and I used to get it when I could. But it is not convenient to get near me at all. So I get it when I can but still run Sta-Bil. Fuel doesn’t stay long in my tank anyways as I run it all year ha
