He’s a chip off the ole block bro! Great post….
I want to go fishing !
If you have children or grandchildren in this case , you probably understand how unbelievably cool it is to hear such words.
About nothing I can think of makes ones heart melt quicker and causes that silly smile that pops on your face when those words come out of those lil ones mouths.
The plan was simple , have your momma drop you off when she has to go to Dallas for her company photo shoot and stay with us a day or so until she goes back home with you.
Well the wish list also included and "maybe chuckee cheese too "
I said yes sir I bet we can do BOTH ! The glee in a 5 year old when they hear Yes to their 2 things on a wish list that make them go bananas is priceless for sure .
So he dropped in for Friday night pizza and we had us a great time and then.....
here came the north wind and the temperature dropped and it began to rain ,,,,, not just a little rain , big time flooding rain and it went on and on and on ....
We hit the chuckee cheese on Saturday in the RAIN , we came back and contemplated how we would accomplish the grand slam. There was this other thing we had planned that was going to be fun as well and my wife was working on it all day , we also promised my friend west of town a nice Mexican food dinner Saturday evening .
about 4:30 we began the 1 hour plus drive in the RAIN and got there in the RAIN and ate dinner in the RAIN , AND the grandson was whispering in ears STILL about the ketchn of fish .....
So all the sudden about an hour before dark it slowed to a mist ....
it was quite miserable outside at 49 degrees with a solid north wind and misting and I had tossed 2 rods in my wife's truck , we only had one jig on each rod and one float on each rod and an orange jig on each .
His agenda was to ketch some bluegill and we had zero things to tip the jigs with. So we got a lil pc. of hotdog and cut it in tiny pcs. and went out on the big lake dock to try to ketch maybe just one or 2 bluegill ...........
Now to be VERY sure ya"ll the man upstairs had to have some play in this part ....
He hooked a crappie the first drop ! And in around 5 to 10 minutes we quit due to the level of not nice outside and he managed to ketch FIVE crappie and 1 nice bass too .....
Asked him if he knew what he was ketchn and he said yeah Pappy , they are floppy crappie .....
When we went back inside the big house the owner said how did it go ? I said well sir about as good as I ever seen if you can imagine such !
The bestest part might have been the trip home though ,when the lil one said darn Pappy , I was wanting to ketch some bluegill .....
Might have done some cool stuff in my time is my middle name , but to VERY sure not many of things accomplished in all my years on this planet were any cooler than this adventure ....
KABOOM is for sure the word and in the end ....if you want to reach out to me .
the number is 1 800 KABOOM

NOTHING like your grandkids. Got to go ketch some krappie at home lake and then go play with my youngest grandaughter and talk to her momma about the one growing inside her.
