Default The wind down has started .....

The fish are starting to leave the shallows at my lunch break place .
The bite is getting less and less in short water daily .
they have been in short water in numbers for about 2 months there .
it peaked about 2 weeks or so ago .
lots of shredded fins yesterday out under the dock and only 2 males in short water.
all the other fish were located in 6 to 8 fow
one thing that is VERY noticeable about the wind down .
all the sudden there are tons of 4 to 5 inch crappie around
and lots of just 10 inch ones in the mix as well.
now mind you this , hitting them 3 or 4 times a week will for sure keep you tuned into what is going on ....but until that happens though ....
get out there and git after them when ya can ....
I went with a purple and light chart jig yesterday ...
managed to ketch 64 or 65 in about an hour ....
half were under 10 inches and not many large versions around.
they really wanted the ole slowly rising thing that we often see in the summer time .
I will be off to some deeper water lakes next week to see how those fish might be acting .
it isnt totally over everywhere in these parts ,but to be very sure of this , lot's of them there spring time bank professional folks are not on the bank anymore in many of the known spring bank spots ...just saying
way back when the 15th of April was when you for sure wanted to be in short water on them deeper lakes , so off I go to see a few deep water spots soon .
being a bank pro is NOT an easy job , just saying
and yes KABOOM is still the word ...
