    Default The marathon adventure

We headed out west to ketch things Friday .....
24 hours of lead slinging to be exact ....
were we successful you might ask ?
yep , slingfest it was ....
slung some here and there and had a great time ....
in this part of the world we say cowboy up when it gets tough .....
but to be quite honest it never got tough ....
the fish were happy to play let's get ketched ....
hit the same lake Friday and Saturday ...
the fish liked .....ORANGE .....just like me ....
    go figure >>>>

Orange with chartreuse tail has been one of my favorites since the 80's, they see it really well. I have five different shades of orange powder paints that I use quite a bit when painting jigs. Why? Because they work. Lots of jigs with orange in the bottom of the jig, it's what they see first if you are fishing your jigs above the crappie like you should be. Great mess of fish.

I too have some of Jim's jigs but won't use them if brush around as too pretty to lose! LOL Going to my happy place where I can put them under a float and no brush and let them do their thing.

I'm like Jim in that my fav now is crappie magnets in orange/chartreuse 1/32nd jigs.

it's a visibility thing , never mind chasing down some poor dumb fish , attract said fish to ya , give em a half chance or at least a small percentage of a chance to not get ketched ........
