    Default New raptors

Finally got out to try my new minnkota raptors and performance fishing crappie brakes today.Fish were on fire and caught my limit pretty quick. It sure is nice to be moving along fast and see a fish, bed or something you want to fish and stop instantly.Name: IMG_20240331_174734.jpg

Just out of curiosity (& not knocking the product or your purchase of it) : since the twin TM's on the back are to stop your forward motion, rather than using the TM on the bow (& stop prop washing the spot you want to fish) .... isn't that kinda defeating the purpose of stopping prop wash ??

Those are some nice catches. Looks like a spider in the last pic.

Are you asking if the back TM's send prop wash 20 foot forward?

Prop wash 20ft or more behind you makes the difference.

I love mine! I’m finding they also have applications for me that others might not have thought of.

When longlining jigs, I have historically had problems with clients not paying attention and letting lines get under the engine. I now let my Raptors down and they block the lines from getting under the boat.

Yesterday we were pulling cranks in 13-15 mph winds. I dropped the Raptors as needed to slow our forward speed down and stabilize the rear of the boat. Worked perfect and I never touched the stomp switch for my motors. I don’t have paddles on mine and hope I don’t have to.
