    Default Livescope question. LS34 / GPSMap 1022

Looking at this combo for front of my boat for crappie fishing. This Garmin unit doesn't have sonar hookup just Livescope. Do you guys use 2d Sonar / DI / SI for front of boat or just livescope and utilize helm FF for DI / SI.

    Thanks!

@MDK_1234 you don't need any of that if you have LiveScope because you can virtually see under water. Use it like a Camera & just get your boat in the area you want to be in drop your trolling motor then Point & Shoot. Scanning with down imaging, side scan, & 2D is for faster trolling speeds like 3mph - 5mph with you using your main engine to cover more ground vs your trolling motor. My advice to you is to make your 1st shot your best shot and to get the biggest screen you can afford 1st so you don't spend that money only to get a larger one later. But do what ya gotta do you can make the 10 inch work for ya..

Keep us posted I would love to hear your progress because most people I know I did wanted to throw dat son of a bagel eater in the lake or shoot it the 1st few months after using it. I would love to see how long it takes you to get your 1st 25 keepers in 1 day. I know people with Forward Facing Technology that may catch 25 Crappie on 1 trip 2-3 times out 10-12 times because they think Forward Facing Technology by itself makes you a Fisherman. W R O N G !!!!!!! O M G HOW W R O N G THAT IS!!! If you are new to LiveScope prepare to learn that you know or knew zero about fish until now.

I have a Livescope/93sv setup in the front of the boat. I bought the 93sv unit w/o tdx because I knew I was only going to use the FFS, and I already had a Lowrance Hook 7 for DI/maps/waypoints. Even so, I only use the Hook 7 for maps & waypoints. Hook 7 tdx is on bottom of trolling motor & LVS32 tdx is on trolling motor shaft. I have no problems seeing all I need to see on the 9" screen.

Buddy I fish with had a 93sv & bought a 10" .... and if he hadn't told me before I fished with him, with the new 10" screen, I'd have never even noticed the difference.

I have a 1199 Humminbird sitting right next to Garmin 1243xsv. I run livescope transducer only. The big bird is for maps, can still mark spots on my maps . Linked to a Mega 12'' at steering wheel for side imaging.

Since my 102sv has been up front I never use the Heilx. I think I'll take it off this year. It's just in the way.

I only use Livescope on the front and never anything else. If I wanted to mark something I'd just mark it with my dash unit which I never turn off. Heck if you can get even close you'll find it with the scope.

I have a helix 9 si gps with lakemaster map at console interlinked to a helix 7 si gps at the bow. I idle looking for brush piles etc. & mark them with the helix 9 which shares them to the 7 up front. If i find anything while fishing ffs at the bow i mark it on the 7 & strictly use my 93 sv for livescope only & it works great that way.
