Video of Crappie Boat Crash While Fishing / Run over fishing the middle of lake

I have a 12” Garmin over a 15” Helix on my bow but they are always folded down on my Cornfield Fishing Gear Folding Mount unless we are fishing at the bow. I went back to a bay style center console on my new boat. It’s not as comfortable running down the lake as the Storm Cat was but I have an absolutely clear line of sight while running.

I've seen the BMR on Ross Barnett stop boat operators with visibility obstructions on the bow of their boats. I use Deck Mounts and look down as needed (I'm not a screen watcher) but like Bon Temps' bow mount for 2 vertical screens is a laydown and on our local Swamp Bayous that is the best Rigging approach to me. You never know what's coming around the corner, may be Navy Seals in a real Bad Jet Boat.

This isn't equipment error blocking the boat operators view. This was Boat Operator Error operating a killing machine unintelligently at Wide Open Throttle.

Man, I see all kinds of place to comment on these posts. Guess I will start with this one. I added a 6in extension post between my Helm seat in my Tin boat and the seat itself. Made a huge difference, now I'm 6'3" tall too. I can see over Bon Temps sitting on our Yeti Cooler and the Casting seat on the bow. Without the extension I have to remove the Casting seat and lay it on the deck for a clear view running. BTW the 6in extension posts are pretty cheap, makes the Helm seat into a High Chair.

Very lucky that was the only damage caused. We have a good collision at least once a year here. A guy that works at the plant i'm at was catfishing out in the main river channel on a very foggy morning. Had another boat collide with his in the fog. Broken pelvis, legs, and a plethora of other injuries. He would have died if he didn't have the automatic deployment vest on. Another reason to never skimp on your PFDs!

Was his view obstructed? Possibly, but myself, I won't draw any conclusions based on a video or picture. As I stated previously, maybe he could see just fine.
