When that happens to me I chalk it up to I'm selling a snack after they done ate. Gotta find the hungry fish. Have you ever seen girlscouts selling cookies at a buffet exit door?
Went to my local panfish lake and it was a great day on the water but nothing was biting. Water visibility was only 6 inches to a stained murky brown.
Tried white, pink, green, brown, black, purple and red jigs in many combos. Plastics, beetle spins, spoons, worms, shrimp and everything else without so much as strike.
Sonar showed fish everywhere in as shallow as 3 feet of water. Couldn't get a reading shallower in my buddies boat. A lot suspended in 12 to 25 feet of water.
What was I doing wrong? Fish shallow, fished as deep as 35 feet on the bottom and everywhere in between.
Couldn't even touch a yellow perch in a spot we got 30+ last year. It was later in the year but figured something would be there.
Tuff bite when they spawn.
Or weather is still unstable. It was 46 degrees lastnight. It should be on and poppin once April arrives.
I had to put it in their face today . Suspended in 10' of water . Had rose 4 feet last couple days. water temp dropped to mid 50's last night as air temp was 28. Chased roamers with livescope and a few days ago people said they caught them on the bank.

Takeum Jigs
Yesterday’s bite was pretty much off where I went as well , maybe 15 bites total in an hour , not sure about much other than how I gauge things without the help of electronics devices , first pitch my jig came back to me feeling cold to the touch , this time of year a cold jig is a bad thing.
It was pretty odd to be in such a great spot this time of year and only get a handful of bites .
The other odd part was 2 large bluegills and a few other peck bites as well . AND the snakes were nowhere to be seen either , just saying
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
Are you sure they’re spawning?
If so just keep fishing cover you expect to find them in. Once you find the males , they should bite.
I caught some last week in 2 ft of muddy water.

Inconsistent night temps from 36 to 60 degrees! Fish here in SC don't know what to do either!
Actually not sure they were spawning but saw a few in other lakes that were on the beds so all I can do is surmise they were at this lake.
Odd thing is the trout that had been planted the day before didn't bite either. I'm chalking it up to miserable visibility and cold water.
Gonna try some triple hook setups next time. a jig on bottom and 2 different baits so maybe I can get something to bite.
