I wonder sometimes , am typically pretty close on guessing , seem to be within an ounce or 3 most of the time on larger specimens , handling lots of them will make you better at guessing for sure , we typically see a few over 2 in our part of the world and a really quite rare one at over 2.5 here and there , 3 is pretty much almost non existent in our waters locally , we have ZERO 3 lb crappie lake records in the lakes I often frequent ....
