Default Am I The Only One...

....that uses a Rock-it fish scaler anymore? I certainly do get ALOT of looks when I put my smaller 9"-10" crappies in the basket to clean as "on-the bone". This eliminates any scaling and gutting at the house and me and my son LOVE eating the bone-in fish vrs the fillets.

I never heard of this thing. Had to watch a youtube video of folks skiing it across the lake. Video endings were kinda shady with results being edited to heres a fish that came out of it

I have heard of them but never seen one in action. The only fish I scale is bluegill/bream and I still use a spoon for that.

Those things have been around for a lot of years. Used a similar one back in early 70’s. When I arrived in Saudi in 1980 I went downtown to buy fresh chicken, meaning live. After I paid they killed the chicken and threw it in a similar device, just larger. It was run by an electric motor. That chicken come out of there without a single feather still attached.Am I The Only One... It occurred to me that would never fly in the US in today’s world. It sure did a good job, as did the scaler. My family ate a lot of fish back in the day, and there were a lot of us. Sometime in mid 70’s family started filleting all fish. Not sure what happened to the scaler.

    Regards
