Being fishing guide is a tough job because you can't afford to have off days. Just like a comedian your exposed immediately if you don't do your job. It takes alot of time on the water to know and produce fish every single trip.
After fishing yesterday I don't care if you granted me a wish to be the "Best Fisherman in the World for 20 years straight". I would tell you to "keep that wish & grant it to someone else". Mother nature & the variables surrounding fishing for a Living are something I wouldn't want to do. Man if you put someone that didn't know how to fish on my boat I wouldn't have the patience for it. I'd probably be like: LOOK DUDE THE FISH IS RIGHT THERE, DON'T YOU SEE IT! CATCH THE FISH DUDE!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? I SEE WHY YOU HAVE TO PAY TO CATCH THEM GEEZ.
You guys have a hard job, crazy weather, crazy fish patterns, inexperienced customers on board. It's enough for me to say it would ruin my passion for fishing if I had to endure that for living. I wouldn't like it as much being a past time. Job well done to any FISHING GUIDE OUT THERE. Brother it ain't easy.
(Only 12 Emoji's darn it... I'm 22 short..)

Guiding ain’t fun , it’s a tough job , and you ain’t likely getting rich doing it either
I would consider it as a part time thing if I were retired, but only on nice days ....

It can be sort of like babysitting adults at times. Kids easier to deal with than some adults. Some think they already know how to fish and want to tell the guide. My buddy Terry, I met guiding told me once I don't know how you do it. I just did it part time for awhile . Livescope has made it crazy and never saw so many starting up guiding. Can be aggravating to see a big Slab Crappie hit a jig and client says ''No It did not , I know how to fish.'' Tell them ''lift your pole''. Then hear them ''I got a big one on'' .

@Nimrod well I'm "Terry" also (Literally Terry Young). I'm your Other FRIEND & I'm telling you again "I DON'T SEE HOW YOU DO IT" The only way I have fun with a person on my boat is if they are verified fisherman I know & we have similar styles or if they are a child/female. It's like I expect Children & Females to not know. But these Grown Men I know how to Fish Type.. You gotta be on your boat while I'm on mine. I have only less than 4 that get on my boat & it's going to be on if we can find them. Hatz Off to you Sir. This Terry can't do it.

My problems with wanting to be a licensed guide are the paperwork and taxes. Nope. I’m retired. I’m not working for the government anymore. They want a cut for doing absolutely nothing.
So let me get his correct@ Chaunc.. You would tell them? Ummm... Ummm... "Your Honor... I assure you I was just taking out Friends that are like Family from this Friendly Website that a Man named Slab build call Crappie dot Com & they would say for your time & patience here is a gift. I mean this is what our Politicians have taught me So you mean I have to pay Tax's on this and they don't?
