Default Just me and my float

and a jig and some hard to figure out from the bank crappie . big thunderstorms hit , rain and lightening and wind , north wind came in and the day was dreary ....
drove in a deluge to hit my friends place for a few quick pitches .....
started of really poor 2 lil bass first stop , got a tiny bit better when I moved the first time to the second spot with a few large sunfish , went for my 3rd stop and final of that adventure and KABOOM !
not sure what was going on exactly but all the fish in that lake liked spot 3 and so did lil ole me ......
years ago we were told to clean out the lil crappie in there and that we did, hundreds per visit for an entire summer , took a couple thousand out of there . the following year far less crappie and a bit bigger , the next year much the same and now not many in there it seems but the ones you will find are nice fish ...
I was hoping to ketch a few crappie and I did , I think 6 total and several large red ear sunfish and more than a few bluegill and some bass and EVEN 2 large catfish !
is it always easy to ketch 7 crappie , not off the bank blindly pitching a jig is my answer , but it is what I do , if it gets to terribly easy I lose interest in it pretty quickly ....
now the particulars,,,,,a tiny jig got bites ,a larger jig nada , most of the fish liked it dragging along really slowly with zero twitches , about 24 inches under the float in water depths around 4 to 6 feet , the crappie were in some kinda odd mood and wanted the jig somewhat sitting still and just twitched , did not figure that part out till I was leaving the scene of the adventure .....
was darn fun for sure and they was all let loose to go do what they were doing before I interupted them .....
    KABOOM is the word
p.s. due to how tiny the jig was , I hooked several heavy fish that escaped me , think they were likely crappie is my guess , but when they won't bite a big jig , its WAY better to use a small one and ketch some instead of none ....
AND yes it's an ugly jacket , but it was free and it was raining .....just saying

it beats about every way to ketch them by a million miles for us in these parts , nothing else even comes close to watching that float go under and or up for me , and most I mentor and a few I don't would tend to agree
    the thump is second ....
followed in far last place by ffs , thats just gaming , i can do that at home ......or on my phone ....
