Progressive paid off quickly and fairly when my boat had to be salvaged from a lake bottom due to a poor rescue effort from the Coast Guard and Fire Department.

All State agreed to price. All State treated me right when my 5th wheel was destroyed in a hurricane. Paid total and was in the bank in 4 days. When I made a $1000 plus claim on my boat , no problems again. I now have cars, boat and house with them. My prior home insurance bellied up after the same hurricane that killed my camper, although they treated us right, I had to find another company. All State had the best price. I do shop every couple years to make sure I am still getting good prices. All State still is my best option.

I've had Erie since 1977. No claims yet, but have seen how others were treated by the company.
    Couple of suggestions-
    1. Be careful of the agent you deal with, some are very good and some I would only recommend to someone I didn't like.
    2. Don't add boat to home owners. Get a separate inland marine policy. Better coverage and more options.
    3. Keep the liability part high. The waterways are getting more dangerous every year. Drugs and alcohol are everywhere.

    Good luck

I personally wouldn't have a agent that I didn't already know on a first name basis.
Yes I read up on Erie, they are big in boat insurance but still dont know if they do agreed value.

Progressive sounds like they are worth checking into, but I thought I read they will only do a agreed value for 1-5 year old boats?
All state could be in the running too

I would think many more autos would be repaired after a accident, where as a boat would be less likely to be rebuilt. I dont see where many boat accidents would call for body work, heck all that was wrong with my boat was the wench strap loop was pulled down and got all whopper jawed. I could of easily kept the boat and probably ran it for 20yrs, but it wasnt worth the risk.

My boat is a 91' purchased in 2018 so unless something has changed I don't think that's true. I originally tried to get insured through BoatUS, but they wouldn't offer an agreed value policy.
