Default Planer board day on Ky Lake

I owe Rickie about a thousand fishing trips for all the work he does on my boats. He won’t let me pay! It’s always “Take me fishing.”

    I took him fishing today.

Big crappie was 16.25 inches. Didn’t weigh it. She will replace a crappie I lost in my shop fire.

Green Perch was 12.75 inches and about to bust. She would have given the old state record a run but new State record was recently set with a 14 inch plus fish. I dropped her back in after pics. We had a couple more crappie over 14 inches.

We were pulling underspin jigs with plastics behind Off Shore Tackle OR38 mini boards.

A great time was had by all!!

Wowser, great fish. That perch is way huge. Perch, Crappie, and Walleye all have that white flakey similar meat, IMHO. Taste great.

Nice that you let the toad perch go especially when they taste so good! How deep were your baits running when you caught her?

Interesting thing Doug and I have learned since LiveScope came out ... point your LiveScope forward while trolling and watch the fish dive when the boat gets close = TROLLING MOTOR NOISE IS SCARING THE FISH !!

Planer boards push your baits out to the side where the fish have not been spooked by the TM ...
