    Default Inexpensive telescoping crappie rods?

Mostly livescope and my 6.6 to 8 foot rods work fine but wish l had a 12-14 foot rod at times. Not enough room in either boat, I fish out of, for rods longer than 8 foot so a telescoping rod would be nice. Any suggestions? Thanks, Don

A telescoping rod that long is going to be heavy. You would be better off using a two piece rod

BPS Uncle Buck's Deluxe Crappie Pole is the only one I'm familiar with. I have two that I use to Push jigs w/Line Counter reels, but they'd work fine with a spinning reel.

BPS/Cabela's has them for $25 (they're 13ft long & collapse down to a little over 45in. long). They're tubular fiberglass, with a solid fiberglass tip.

Not sure how they'd perform at Livescope snipin', as I've only used them in rod holders.

Check Ebay for Goture brand rods. Not too heavy and around $30 for them. Can get them up to 24' long that collapse to around 30". Good for dipping docks.

The 20 footer weighs 10.4 ounces. I checked out the B&M little mighty too & it weighs the same. There just Japanese tenkara rods too i guess. I want a 20 footer but would have to counter weight it for balance.

B n M black widow from wally world....about 15.00 dollars for a 14 footer. Eat your Wheaties, cause they be heavy.

The problem with telescoping is they are heavier, which is exactly what you do not want for a scoping rod that you will be holding and working all day. Look into a 2pc graphite. I really like the bucks ultralight jig pole, I use the 11' but pretty sure they come longer as well. Good for up to 1/8 with big plastic, 1/4 slows the tip too much.

I will be honest, i move the reel up onto the grip a bit and use electrical tape to hold it on, instead of the rear reel seat.

I totally agree that a 2 piece would be the best choice but l am looking for something l can store in a small space due to space restrictions. Don

Sportsman's Warehouse use to have Shooting Star telescopic rods. I use the 14 ft ($7.49) and 16 ft ($7.99) for trolling. I haven't looked for them since 2006. All other rods were a bit heavier. 5 to 8 ft telescopic rods are heavier than the longer ones.
Look for some auction houses in your area that sell new stuff. Never can tell when fishing tackle will show up or the price. Most is stuff from China. Some post photos on their fackbook group of what will be at the next auction. Some use zoom or facebook live, get to sit at home instead of being in a crowd.
Some auction houses have dealer's sells. Items sold by the carton or case. Can get some good deals if you want that many. Some have a limit on the amount needed, like $10. If an item sells for $5 you have to buy 2. If an item sells for $4 you have to buy 3, to get over the $10 limit.
