    Default Planer boards

I'm going to fish some planer boards for the first time. For those of you who do this... what is the deepest you fish jigs on boards? Shallow only?

I usually pull them in spring. I tie on 2 jigs. One above the other. I fish around 7 feet deep with them. You can run them deeper. Even add weight as needed to them it down where you want it

Ireally like crappie fishing with planer boards. They're kinda spending. What are some good boards that don't break the bank?

Off Shore Tackle boards are the best I’ve ever used. Don’t lose them they will last forever.

I’ve used Off Shore Tackle OR12 boards with #2 Off Shore Tadpole diving weights targeting crappie 25-30 feet deep with Pico crank baits.

I’ve used Off Shore OR38 and OR12 boards with Squarebill crankbaits and spinner head jigs in shallow and deep water.

I would use minnows in 10 feet of water.

I've been doing a lot of research to find the best planer boards for crappie at the best price. This is what I found. The Gator board at the top with a score of 9.8 is as far as you need to look. The reviews are the best.

I’ve ran several of the reviewed boards and totally disagree with their rankings. Like they say about opinions.
