Default First trip of the year

Have been busy with many things, including helping my Dad move.

My nephew had a day off of school so we uncovered the boat and took it out on the lake. Was a beautiful day:

We saw lots of crappie, but schools of shad were swimming by, and it was difficult to catch on the jig. We caught a few, some decent, but it was a tough day.

Another fisherman came by, talking about how great it was. He threw a small, electric chicken jig, and retrieved way faster than we were, and he popped three fish in a row. He was definitely WAY better a crappie fisherman than we were! I imitated his retrieve style and caught a fish pretty quickly, but that was the only one.

Even so, we were able to get a few.

I have so much to learn!

I know you and your nephew enjoyed sharing the boat together and by the looks on his face he had a great time. Congrats.
