Crsearcy please PM me your phone number. This will be straightened out directly. I just got off the phone with Jack, and he will give you a call. He's travelling right now. He said that the double shipping cost is wrong, and should not be. If it is, there's a problem with the system, and it will be addressed. And the $30 shipping is another story, it may or may not be correct depending on what shipping options were chosen as it is a 7 ft rod section. But anyway, it may be a system issue, and perhaps a communications issue, dono, but it will be righted.

Yessir Mr Wells did call and leave a message but unfortunately I’ve been in the air off and on since noon yesterday trying to get to North Dakota, joys of winter travel. I will contact him when I get settled in up there.

I had an issue several years ago with shipping something very small. The system defaulted to $15 shipping. When I got it, the shipping on the envelope was $1.29. Contacted them and they took care of it.

Academy sports sells them long whippy rods for like $25.

I caught a 12 incher on mine and gosh-almighty, was like trying to lift a cinder block. Ugly stick makes a whippy 9 ft spinning rod. I've got 2 7-6 ft bait caster rods that I'll be using instead of that noodle rod thing...

I wouldn’t think shipping would be that high
I just ordered 2 10ft pst’s from Grizzly and I think shipping was around $15

I have a pic on here (somewhere) of two Crappie caught at the same time & lifted into the boat with my 12' Diamond Series BnM rod. One fish about 10" & the other about 11" and I had no trouble (or doubt) lifting them out of the water and swinging them aboard.
