    Default Scouting for Bluegill Beds

Locating bluegill beds if one has an si unit can be relatively easy....depending on the size of lake....but, if it is a new lake, and if first time on it that might be a struggle. Just want to throw out this tip out about using Google Earth Pro for finding bedding areas. If you use the historical images you may be able to find bedding areas on the lakes you fish or are wanting to fish. It all depends on angles of the sun, when image was taken......ripples on the water...and clarity of the lake. It can be an arduous task but what else do we have to do when we are shut in during bad winter weather. Ive been doin this for a while and it has paid off for me on several lakes. Hope you all find this helpful.

Never used it for Bluegill beds, but did use it to find stumps & logs & small brushpiles at a local lake. Got the GPS coords off the Google Earth map & manually punched them in to my depthfinder. Unfortunately, I never got around to going to any of those spots to see how accurate the coords were or to fish them.

I thought the same thing but presumed that maybe my computer wasn't showing a good detailed image or something.

You will see much clearer using Google Earth Pro on your PC. I have outlined the beds...and believe me they are beds.
