    Default ACC Crappie Stix warranty

Not trying to be negative, just wanted to inform everyone of my recent experience with ACC Crappie Stix. I'm sure others have had different experiences, this is my personal one. As I'm sure you already know, ACC's definitely not the cheapest rods on the market when it comes to the wallet. I purchased an 8ft jigging rod last march. At the beginning of February 2024, the rod tip broke off while fishing for no particular reason. I was hesitant to purchase an ACC in the first place last year because of all the negative reviews stating they lack durability and break often. I really enjoyed the rod before it broke. I've since found out they only offer a 6 month warranty on rods. I took the rod to my local reputable dealer ( where I purchased the rod) to see if there's anything they could get done or at least order a tip section for me. The shipping on a tip section on ACC's site is almost as much as the tip itself. I had hoped the dealer could possibly get me a break on shipping when he ordered other rods. The dealer said ACC has now contracted out warranty repairs and requests to a 3rd party company. The dealer also advised he couldn't even get any tip sections in, none of his distributor's had them. Just be aware, ACC crappiie stix are very nice rods, just not real durable and only have a 6 month warranty. The company is NOT willing to work with you on anything outside of that 6 months. I take responsibility, should have known about the warranty and stayed with other rod companies. No more ACC's for me! Tight lines

That’s interesting and thanks for sharing…. I personally try and stay away from products not made in the USA. It is very hard to do as most of our fishing gear is made offshore somewhere…. I do try tho.

Thank you for the info. I had been considering a longer jigging pole for myself. I had been considering an ACC among others. This makes me have to do some more thinking. Thinking makes my hair hurt.

Rod warranty’s are really not worth much. Yes I know a lot of folks will say I have had great luck with so and so rod warranties. The truth is for all that comment just how good they were treated when their rod broke there are a hundred who didn’t come out so well. If rod manufactures honored all the claims they get they’ed be out of business pretty quick. This is the very reason rod warranty’s aren’t much to speak of today. Years back a lot of companies would have lifetime warranty no questions asked. Many times all you had to do was take rod back to where you purchased it and get a replacement on the spot. I did this several times at Bass Pro on their branded rods as well as rods from TFO, Shimano, and others. Took a Shimano Compre UL rod back 3 different times and got a new one. Companies soon found out this was not going to work, and they did away with it. In today’s world you may have to ship a rod back so the manufacturer can determine if the rod was defective. If they see it your way you’re good to go. If not then they will tell you they can replace for such and such a price, or they could turn you down period. In reality it is rare for a rod to break from a defect. Most are broke from misuse or by accident. Even for rods made in USA, which is very few, they also can’t honor but a very small percentage of warranty claims. ST Croix has a free lifetime warranty on their Panfish Legend Elite. See a lot of folks talk about how great that warranty is until they file a claim and read terms of warranty. Nothing free about it when it comes to a claim.

    Regards

Understand completely! I’m sure many people have taken advantage over the years! However, we’d probably be surprised at the mark up and profit margin these companies are making on these rods. My main point is I expect more than a year of fishing out of a higher tier crappie rod.

Thanks for the info. I've always liked Sam Heaton super sensitive. They are tough. Only one I've ever broke I stepped on getting on the boat. It's easy to get tip ends for

All companies right now no matter what it is are doing their best to reject any warranty claims
I had a tip break last spring on a B&M rod that was under warranty and they said that they only had complete rods when I called them and no replacement tips and I would have to wait until they got some in instead of pulling a tip off a complete rod
They didn’t have any allocated for warranty purposes
Took me 2 months to get a tip
