I bought a new rod. BnM Sam Heaton Super Sensitive 7 foot, 2 piece. I put the smallest Abu Garcia Revo X on it (size 10). Thinking of changing up my previous line setups for this one. Might go lighter on both the braid and fluoro. Looking for suggestions / recommendations.
I have two other 7 footers, but they are UL, 1 piece rods. They also have Revo X size 10’s on them. They have 10 lb Power Pro hi-vis yellow tied to a 4 lb Berkley Trilene Fluorocarbon leader.
I’ve also tried 10 lb Spiderwire Invisbraid tied to a 6 lb Berkley Trilene Fluorocarbon leader. I like that a bit more, as the Spiderwire seems a bit more abrasion resistant than the Power Pro, and going from 4 to 6 fluorocarbon didn’t seem to bother the fish at all.
I’m thinking 10 lb Spiderwire to 4 lb braid… Should I go lighter? 8 or 6 lb Invisibraid to 2 lb fluorocarbon?
Probably going to use this one for short casts / jigging close to the boat (kayak or pond prowler).
All the best,
Glenn
