    Default Crappie Madness

Looks like Bass Pro Crappie Madness promo has started but it appears they have did away with the 50% off items and replaced them with 25% off. Not much of deal since most of their items are already marked up. For example their Bobby Garland baits are now $2.78 a pack instead of the $1.58 they typically are during the sale. Heck I get them all day at Walmart for $2.59. I did not see any half price off rods either. I guess I will be sitting this one out.

I've never been very impressed with BPS and now that they bought Cabella's it's just another BPS with a different name.

Basspro has +'s and -'s like all stores. Certainly prices are up, but aren't they up pretty much everywhere. But let's remember to not bash any vendor's per sight rules and keep this thread going like it is. And remember, even if it cost a few cents more, let's buy from our sight sponsors when we can.

With all due respect, the aforementioned post(s) reflect exactly what I too have experienced. I personally, do not consider them "bashing". In fact, the authors presented their opinions tastefully and with the best interest of members in mind. Thank you. I further submit, that most, if not all would want to know this.

cabelas and bass pro last check are one in the same , they are really fun entertainment , think of it like going to one of them places you can't really afford , but go just because its cool to look around .
we go when we get gift cards , that way we get a few things and get to see all the cool things they offer , last visit we found after Christmas stuff on real sales and got several clothing items that are pretty nice , my kid wears her jacket everyday its chilly and it was between 15 and 20 bucks at half off ,,,,,not bad for a decent quality item is my thoughts

Yep, I often go just to look around, but it's not that rare for me to go to a BPS, wonder around for an hour and buy nothing. I did have some BPS points on my credit card, so I "took advantage" of the Crappie Madness sale to purchase a BnM Sharpshooter 6, a BPS reel to go with it, a couple of packs of 1/32 ounce jigheads and some KVD line conditioner, but none of those things were really smoking deals.

Occasionally I buy online from them since they are one of the few places that might have a particular item. I try to find local or through a site sponsor if possible first. As Slab says “support those that support us”.

that 6 foot sharpshooter by BnM was the last rod I almost bought ......just saying
it was on sale for 59.99 and some pro fella was pushing them that visit , was a real nice stick best I could tell ....at bass pro ...
BUT , with lots of real nice sticks already in my possession and not being able to hide said almost acquired item from my wife .....
I thunk ,,,,,hmmmm ,,,,,maybe the grief that will rain down on me for buying another rod ,might not be worth it .....just saying

My post wasn't intended as a bash, simply my opinion. I did buy a new tackle bag that was on sale and four packages of plastics to raise the total enough to qualify for free shipping. I spent ten dollars to save five, so that says a lot about my intelligence. LOL
