Default Have any of you switched from Motorguide to Garmin Kracken ?

Seems like most on this board use MinKota, but I have always used MG Xi5, I am having connection problems
between my Lowrance and Xi5. I am just about fed up enough to spend the money go all Garmin.

Has anyone here done this ? How has it worked out ?

    TIA

I had Xi5 and Lowrance. I added a Garmin screen and Livescope within about a year of the livescope coming out.

I was having issues with a lot of interference on the Garmin whenever the trolling motor was on. Trolling motor was also getting physically noisy I believe it was going to need replace or rebuilt. When the remote started acting up I bit the bullet and got a Garmin Force.

I also switched boats right about the same time and went with all Garmin, multiple screens, x2 livescope and the Force Trolling motor.

I like the all Garmin setup, the force has tons of power for moving my 1860 mod V. I fish an electric only lake often. In the spring the shallow water is at the opposite end of the lake where you launch from. with the 12 V Xi5 it was a 30 minute run apx 2.4 mph max speed. I'm running the Force on 36V GPS speed gets up over 5 MPH almost to 5.5. That's the good part of it.

I do think that the Xi5 held me on the spot better than the Force does. I don't think the Force does a terrible job, but IMO the Xi5 did a better job with spot lock.

I changed from Terrova to Kraken just before Christmas. I love the Kraken and the interaction with my Garmin chartploters.
