Hmmmmmm. I haven't had this happen yet. I will have to take a closer look at my jig heads. I have both painted and unpainted.jigs. Guess I have just been lucky.

I hate that we have to buy fishing gear from other countries…. ??. I have not had that problem of the line coming out. that remember….

I have found hooks while pouring heads. I try to catch them and just give them a squeeze with a pair of needle nose pliers to close the eyelet. It's easy to do.

I use 6lb line as well pushing jigs. Few years I had the same problem and I always used a loop knot and gold hooks. After a while started looking the jig head over and noticed that most of the gold hooks had a gap in the eyelet. Switched the bronze hooks and hadn't seen 1 do that since and that was 7 to 9 years ago. That is why I don't sell any jig heads with gold hooks on my website....

When I'm painting jigs with Victory sickle hooks some are breaking at the hook eye itself when I put a needle through the eye to clear the paint from the eye. Had this happen with several sizes in the past couple years. Maybe this is happening after they are tied on and could be the reason for the jig being gone with the loop knot still intact. Had several break like this in the last jig painting session.
