    Remember to check every time you move. Some lakes have springs or current that can cause areas that have much thinner ice.

    I will go out on the ice when it will hold up my pickup Texas boy who hates fishing in the cold.

    I need 5-6" of good black ice before I'll venture out; haven't been out yet this season.

    shoot bro , the ice in one spot I hit will get thick enough to drive on a day or 2 and be just water a few days later ....
