Yup, totally worth it
Haven’t really into crappies or bass for the past year or two. I think I’m gonna get back this year more. Lost my favorite rod last fall when bigger than crappie pull line under dock, either I have to let the rod goes or I would be under cold water. I’m sad even now thinking about it, bought two new rods but still not the same. This rod (Shimano crucial ML, bass rod) can cast plain 1/16oz jig or 5-7 gram lighted float easily.
Anyway I had been testing the water every cold week for big mama to come into shore. Caught a few here and there until this morning, woke up at two and can’t go back to sleep. What better thing to do in this cold and raining of SoCal? Sneaked out of bed to the lake. The result I would say worth it, what do you think?

Very nice. I caught my first fish there (bluegill) in 1963. It was called Railroad Canyon back then.
She is nice and looks like she ready to pop!!
A few thousand eggs in her if allowed to hatch would insure some good future fishing trips.
congrats
Bon Temps !!
