fisherfolk have a tendency to freak out over any changes to their favorite lake. Had fisheries biologist literally laugh at us for concern about Mark twain lake in MO about amount of boats on water and pressure. Said they were irrelevant as was concern over stocking of Wipers to control shad. Said neither would have any effect as it's all about how well was the spawn as crappie are prolific.
Especially on my favorite lake which gets so little pressure but locals are convinced they are taking too many crappie out. because there a group of 3 to 5 guys who will fish every day. LOL on a 6000 acre lake thinks that will matter. couple parking lots might have 1 to 10 boats on it on a busy weekend . I just listen don't bother to discuss it with them. When you have to wade thru dozens of smaller fish to get your keepers and usually do they don't realize how great population actually is.
wannabe fisherman, J White LIKED above post
probably won't effect the crappie much ,except for probably overall average size maybe , it might go up .....
one never knows , but to be sure it will be a reel burner episode if a 5 year old florida strain bass hits your crappie jig for darn sure
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
You'd be surprised about HP!
Well just for your info I'll be the guy flying by you at 70mph crappie fishing! I didn't bass fish out of my BASSboat (Glittersled or whatever you guys want to call it) maybe 1 or 2 times last year!
I just find it funny because when I winter fish and see guys on the golf course, I always say look at those idiots golfing in this weather but whine I'm golfing in the cold and see guys out fishing I say would you look at those idiots!
None on my boat! Never! Single pole only!
Not a big fan of sitting and fishing but if you want to see people laugh while fishing you need to fish with me and my buddies in my BASSBOAT! Pretty much non-stop, not sure how we even catch them sometimes!
The 3-4 little fishbowl 200-300 acre state parks around here have had Florida bass since I was a kid or before, and the problem with crappie in them is always overpopulation.
Only ones where you could catch decent sized crappie were where you had a dedicated bunch of geezers who worked at hauling crappie out.
And they will still cycle, boom/bust
with huge amounts of dinks some years.
