    Default Braid Advice

    Good morning fellow crappie fishermen.

I am switching to hi vis braid this year for crappie jigging brush and casting roadrunners. Can y'all let me know from your experience what is the best hi vis braid to go with? Right now the plan is going with a 10lb braid using a 8lb fluro leader. Any help is appreciated. I fish Kansas lakes. Thank you

I've had good luck with Power Pro, but recently spooled up some K-9 5# for casting and really like it. When I inquired about it, I was told it has a 13# break strength.

I use 8lb hig vis Power Pro braid. I back it with 50yards of mono and then 50 yards of braid and then a fluro leader. The spools come in 150yards and this way I can spool three reels with braid and save money. To even save more money you can flip the braid after a season and your good to go. No need to fill the entire spool with braid
