Maybe you can give me a tip. When I cast out my jig just sits on top and won't sink.

Don't use topwater baits!

It would have to be alot more frozen than it shows in those pictures. I'd be skeered!

Ice was about 7 to 8 inches thick.

It did make a pop noise once I felt which made me shiver! Not my buddy from Wisconsin.

If the ice s popping and there isn’t a vehicle driving by it’s making ice….As far as all the cold talk, you have to experience it,standing on the ice at 25-30 degrees with no wind on a sunny day isn’t cold, your walking hole’s drilling new holes,hopefully catching some,way nicer then sitting still in a boat at 40 degrees (do to humidity from the water).Spend a afternoon ice fishing you’ll come home with mild sunburn on you face.
