Default Varivas 8LB test line, need a report, contest

Post here if you're an 8lb test kinda guy when fishing for Crappie. I am and I love this Super Trout Advanced Sight Edition green line (top right). It's limp as can be. Love casting with it. A sixteenth ounce jig casts a country mile with this stuff. What I'm wanting is a report back on how and which of these Varivas lines you like best when you win. So anyone can enter with a post here making any type comment about this task. You can make a post per day, and whom-ever is randomly selected will win all the line pictured. There is a 6lb test line of the cool green stuff too. So this is a great prize and all we're requesting if you win is a report about the lines in a thread you start. Thanks all, and good luck.

8 lb is my go to line. Love to try some Varivas line. Clear is preferred but I use high visibility line some too.

I use 8lb line when fishing lake Fork or Tawakoni. You never know when a big bass or Hybrid decides to devour your bait.

One thing to remember, many lines are under rated. IMHO Varivas 8 lb test line is similar in strength to other brands 6 LB test. Have others experienced anything similar. This does not mean one is better than the other, it's just how they are rating it. Like I said, I love how Varivas 8 LB test casts and handles overall.

Look at the line diameter. US market started underrating lines back in the early 70's. All the time hear folks say "Man I caught those fish on 2# test line"...when in reality it was 4# test line.....just the label said it was 2# test. Most US market 8# test line breaks at or around 10#. Here are a couple of good charts.

I don't use line that heavy for crappie but use that size when after Bass and hybrids so I would give it a shot. I have used Varivas in smaller sizes and like the results.

8 lb line works for me and casting a country mile does also. I like it already just reading your post about it and would like to try it.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
