Yes why notI’m sitting here pounding beers after work, and thinking. Recipe for trouble. A past romantic affliction - yeah I said what I said - was from the far north. We did have some good thought provoking convos about the differences between here and there.
Brought on by me whining about burning the candle at both ends with fishing and hunting. Here, fishing is year round, and hunting goes on for months. It can take a toll if you try to do it all to the fullest. She told me how up yonder, it was very structured. You had this fishing season and that, deer season was short, but you had other things. Wild rice harvest, morels, ice fishing, blah blah. Said you hit it hard, then did maintenance and put that gear away for the year, prepared for the next thing. I like our freedom and wide open seasons, I do. But I can see some good in their way too. I have seen here in my life in MS deer regs go from super restrictive to full tilt. And crappie fishing tighten up. I remember 50 fish limits everywhere. My question finally. Do you think we will ever see species specific fishing seasons here in MS? Like to hear your thoughts. But behave. Don’t get me in trouble w Slab. I do enough of that on my own!
