An independent marine adjuster that will work for you is what you need. My buddy had to hire his own when his insurance had their guy look at his & they tried to lowball him. The guy he hired totaled it & the one the insurance had him take it too wasn’t close even though it was totaled without a doubt.

Dang bro, I sure hate to hear this happened to you. I know it's a pain anytime you have a loss caused by someone else... and then have to deal with their insurance company, who you know is going to try to cut their losses anyway and anywhere they can.
Best of luck to you gettin' it all settled, but I believe I would be patient and/or write off whatever amount of fishing time necessary to get whatever settlement you believe to be fair or reasonable.

I found one in N Carolina and forwarded all the info today. He was a yacht broker for 10 years so he'd versed in the marine world.
