Default KABOOM is what we do ......

just saying , Hog in the head KABOOM and hooks in the bone KABOOM ...
combo trip , went really well , the hunt was fun , the fish were WAY fun and dropped in at meat facility on the way home to pick up 50 lbs of venison . They love to toss in a handfull of what he calls snack packs in your box , mixtures of different sausage sticks and such ....good times
the piggy went down early , the lunch over the fire was nice and some chores and off to my friends place to ketch a few on the way home .
Gone from home 1 day and man did we accomplish the game plan well , really sweet and followed my script to a tea .....
The fish were all over the spot we hit and we got bit first drop till we left , it was insane to see such a great multi species bite under floats set at 2 foot deep in the winter.
Silly me told H when we hit the spot there was no bite there at that location the last 2 visits , but since its right in the first parking lot why not , we never left it after the jigs went down .
We used very small jigs with nibbles on them , orange and yellow was best ,but black and chart was ok as well . H used a really old hand tied jig and I went with plastics .
Both of us used ultra lights and to be very sure the big bluegill reigned the waters. There were crappie in the mix and bass as well and there was a solid number of fish on the surface chasing other fish all around us .
About froze we did out there and at about leave time the owners sons and grandsons and family started to come in from hunts on the ranch .
The one grandson was just busy chatting it up with me as I was whacking fish and told me wished he could too ....
I said well the pavilion is full of rods , go get one and lets get after it , he complained them set ups were not worth a flip and I said ok then sir ....
Here is my rod and hammer away , my old bones are cold and tired of ketchn fish anyway
Went over my fish counter image captures and we quite easily passed 150 assorted fish ....it really don't get much better for sure ....
some of them bluegill were absolute hammers ,,,,,good stuff no doubt and to be very sure .....
without a doubt , sling some lead like ya mean it or get out of the way .....
    so I can ....
    KABOOM is still the word

Using small jigs in cold water = hammer time. While you were catching hammers I was catching nails yesterday.

lost several solid fish , likely bass and the hooks on them jigs were small .
reason I changed colors from black and chart to orange and yellow was due to someone down below took it and my float ....
