    H shape myself. Got the dumbbell type but theyre big and I dont keep them in my boat.

    JK - I wouldn't say favorite but only kind I've ever used is the H kind. Never used much and hardly ever now with the scope. It was just a reference point for boat position for me and not really even right on top of what I was fishing.

    My father was a guide, he used small flat pieces of drift wood. As it was deployed it would flop till the weight hit bottom then sit still. Onlookers couldn't see that it was actually a marker, but I agree with the post above, if I see someone repeatedly on the same spot I always give it a look myself.
