Default Looking for a recommendation for a bump board (fish measure)

Ive been Bass fishing for so long, I just grabbed the Golden Rule I always used in those tournaments and took it with me for Crappie fishing. Then I see most others using those curved, wider surface ones and I like those a lot. Id like to get one thats either really easy to read, or has a light background so I can use a marker on the lines / numbers to make them stand out more. Ive read a lot of negative reviews on some, regarding flimsy material that breaks easy, so Im avoiding those. Recommendations would be appreciated.

    All the best,
    Glenn

I’m wondering if they changed the material, because the one I found at BPS is yellow, and was the one with the bad reviews for being flimsy / breaking easy.

I didn’t get mine from bass pro but there are numerous ones just the same with different logos. All probably made in China on same assembly line.

I don’t doubt that at all. I recently found out that a number of different “brands” of kayaks are made by the same factory, and they just put brand logos on them and sell as different brands / models.

The Frabill one looks different. Just not too keen on the darker gray color. I’d prefer something lighter / brighter colored.

Get a Ketch board if your concerned about durability, but be prepared to pay.

Dave already said it but the Ketch boards are nice and durable but a pretty penny. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Its aluminum construction and tough, easy to read when measuring fish and 100% American parts and labor.

    Measuring Devices – Ketch Products

I have this one in blue and I really like it.
    26” - Board & Kradle Combo - Ketch Products

Ill send an update tomorrow where I put it in my boat.

I also have this one Frabill Crappie E-Z Check'R but crappie dont always like to go inside it
    E-Z Check'R at BPS

Let us know what you pick!
